Hobbs appears to be in wrong party

State Sen. Steve Hobbs came by my place the other day to get my vote and asked if he could put a sign in my yard.

I didn’t know he had opposition within the party (and why would he tell me?), so thinking “lesser of two evils,” I said “sure.”

Then I thought I better do some research, and man, am I disappointed. Just about every picture on his website shows him in uniform.

Sure, Steve, you did your duty, but so did my dad and uncle and they didn’t use it to puff themselves up and sell their image as a “patriot.”

Then I started reading about the “Roadkill Caucus” in the state Senate — in other words, neoconservatives pretending to be “blue dog” Democrats.

Steve Hobbs’ caucus’ first efforts were to derail unemployment for formerly working people in our state.

Just be honest, Steve, if you’re going to be Republican, join the party and put an “R” behind your name.

Washington doesn’t need another paid-off lackey for developers and bankers.

I’m voting Lillian Kaufer this August. She runs a small company and actually knows what it’s like to make a business work in this economy.

Being a military man is all well and good, but I question whose orders Steve Hobbs is taking.

Let’s change all our Steve Hobbs signs to “No Steve Hobbs in the Senate.”
