Reading my online edition of The Herald, I had to have a little laugh at the letter commenting on what title Rep. George Santos, R-N.Y., should be granted. Sad to say, I didn’t say any speculation on what new state Rep. Clyde Shavers, D-Oak Harbor, should be titled after fabricating his way into our Legislature. Maybe the writer missed those editions of The Herald.
Or maybe, the writer (and others locally) has no problem with the untruths that legislators, or governors, or presidents tell about who they are and what they believe in or will do in office, as long as they have that “D” after their name.
Unfortunately holding elected officials accountable, regardless of party, seems to be optional.
