Here’s starting the New Year off right by thanking Dr. Sanford Wright (and the Round Table Group) for leading the way to help the Volunteers of America replenish the much-needed supply for their food bank this winter. What a success it was! There was truly an outpouring of giving hearts as people responded overwhelmingly.
It was truly a wonderful idea to arrange a “Christmas Spectacular,” which was held Dec. 22 at the Historic Everett Theatre. I was fortunate enough to have been at the Re-Grand Opening of the theatre in the 1950s and I was saddened as the theatre deteriorated over the years and so delighted to see it refurbished as it is today.
The staff and performers were so gracious and friendly, which added to the spirit of an enjoyable and lovely evening of very talented performers.
I understand they readily gave of their time, even though the event was arranged at very short notice and during the busy holiday season. They were all fantastic, from the Emcee to the choir at the end of the performance. I felt privileged to be in attendance and thank all who participated and those who helped the need of the VOA.
The “Christmas Spectacular” was both a success as well as uplifting and a pleasure for those of us who were there.
I truly hope this will be a yearly event and wish you all a Happy 2002.
