I am joining in the campaign for valley residents to vote yes for the Valley General Hospital bond that will be on the Sept. 17 ballot. The service area that VGH serves is growing by leaps and bounds, and will only continue to do so. As a Realtor, I see this growth first-hand. VGH sits at the intersection of two of the state’s busiest and most dangerous highways (Highway 2 and Highway 522). This, coupled with the growth forecasted, is reason alone to support our own community hospital.
Please look at the big picture of the hospital’s effect on your real estate taxes, because it is minor. On a $200,000 assessed value home, it would cost $96.60 per year. But the benefit of a larger, more efficient facility would allow the hospital to better serve the members of our ever-growing community.
Please vote yes and know that the money from the bond will be used wisely, to support the community’s basic health care needs.
