Millions of dollars are collected for cancer research each year.
What I do not understand is why a certain percentage of the money collected cannot stay in the collected areas to help people who have cancer. Numerous fund raisers are held almost monthly for the moms, firemen, dads, children, etc., who cannot pay for the expensive treatments and/or medicines. This is totally wrong.
Someone who gets the cancer diagnosis has enough emotional stress. On top of that, they and their family and friends have to worry about the cost. That only adds to more stress. And stress is a hindrance to healing. Why should cancer victims lose their homes, etc., when so much money is collected? Let’s keep some of what so many people have worked so hard for.
An organization could be formed of honest people who could be in charge of distributing the funds as needed and do it equally and without bias.
