This is in response to the Friday letter, “Our seniors need help with teeth, too”: Seniors in Washington desperately need help with dental-care costs – and remember this is from only a limited few dentists who provide care for the ones who do apply for discounted rates. Consequently we can’t afford to get our teeth taken care of unless we go in debt or use what little money we have managed to save.
I used to live in Portland. I have told three dentists in Washington about Portland’s “Geriatric Dental Group” there. I don’t know if this geriatric dental group is in other cities in Oregon or perhaps many other states too.
It is a lovely clinic, staffed with excellent dentists using the same facilities as any other dentist does. You call and set a time, hours are well-maintained, and most of all rates charged are quoted ahead and reasonably priced for us older people. I have missed this geriatric dental clinic every time I go to one of our very high-priced dentists here in Washington.
Is it not a good time for a few enterprising dentists who understand the situation here in Washington to set up a clinic here in Everett? We desperately need this.
