I am sick and tired of reading about feminists objecting to God Bless America signs in schools for fear of offending someone. I also read that the Florida Gulf Coast University ordered all “Proud to be an American” signs removed so as not to offend international students.
Since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, there has been a surge of patriotism. However, I read that the “politically correct” crowd are already complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others.
I am not against immigration, but this idea of America being a multi-cultural community has only diluted our national identity as Americans, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language, English, not Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, Taiwanese or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn our language. I had to when I started school in North Dakota.
“In God We Trust” is our national motto. God is in our pledge, in our national anthem, our currency. I believe our nation was founded on those principles. God and flag are our culture, absolute. And if stars and stripes and the word “God” offend you, or you don’t like Uncle Sam, then you should seriously consider moving to another part of this planet.
