A number of letter writers have identified themselves as “registered republicans” and then go on to bash President Trump. I wonder how they can be “registered Republicans,” living in Washington, when Washington has never had a registration by a polical party.

Editor’s note: While voters do not register for parties in Washington state, they are required to indicate a party preference and then vote for the corresponding candidate when voting in the presidential primary every four years.
