Every day I read and hear more and more about what should and shouldn’t be done to prevent impending war. These same alternatives were given over 50 years ago prior to the Korean conflict (police action), and then again before the Vietnam War.
I lost a 19-year-old brother in Korea. Well-meaning friends and family said, “Be comforted that he did not die in vain.” Of course he did. Did his death make a difference or solve anything? No, except to leave a terrible emptiness in my family, and a grief that my parents suffered until their deaths.
Ever since Cain slew Abel, man has killed man. How can we ever hope to attain world peace when we can’t maintain it in our cities, towns and neighborhoods? Jesus Christ once uttered these simple works, “Love one another.” Unless the world heeds these words there will never be peace on this old planet earth until man no longer resides here.
