How does assessor come up with home values for taxes?

I recently received my notice of property assessed value. The average tax increase for Snohomish county was 6 percent. I live in Lynnwood and mine and other neighbors were over 12 percent! This is becoming outrageous.

Would be nice to know where the assessor comes up with this large increase. We are on Social Security and our present taxes are $5,500 and next year will be $6,200. Without some investments we made we would be forced to sell. Maybe that is the plan to drive people out, and redevelop the land.

Schools amount to over half the tax we pay. It’s time for us to vote down all new taxes of any kind.

No matter how much we give schools it’s never enough. When we moved into this home some 30 years ago our taxes were $700. These rates have increased far more than the rate of inflation.
