Human interest should be avoided

I agree with those who believe serious questions must be raised regarding the shooting in Monroe. Probably not the same questions, however. Why in the world was there a color picture of Mr. McCord, all buffed out, on the front page of The Herald? When will the human-interest piece appear showing us what a misunderstood person he was and why his death diminishes us all? When will we learn what changed between the time his family said he had sworn not to be taken alive and their attorney’s version where he was attempting to surrender? How big is the check his family now wants we taxpayers to write to lessen their mental anguish? I would guess $20 million.
