Well, I guess it was just a matter of time before some “human rights group” started spouting off about the inhumane conditions that the al Qaida/Taliban prisoners have to endure in Cuba. Forgive me if I don’t shed any tears for those poor fellows, but I would rather save my compassion and my tears for those who really deserve it, those who perished and those whose lives will forever be affected by what those cowards did on Sept. 11.
It is sickening to hear all the garbage that pours out of these people’s mouths. During a wartime situation with POWs, America has always led the way in treating its prisoners with all decency and human kindness. This is a fact.
However, Sept. 11 was not a wartime situation and the deplorable acts they committed were carried out by criminals, not soldiers. Anyone who voluntarily commits a crime, knowing well the consequences of their actions, has waived his/her rights by committing that crime. It is by our good nature and decency that we allow inmates amenities such as TV, games, etc. How much more should these barbarians receive ?
Besides, where is all the proof of all of this inhumane treatment? A few photos showing them behind fences and masks on their faces? What do you do to a dog that bites? You muzzle them.
The Red Cross is monitoring the operation so we would have proof if there were human rights violations. Personally, I gave to the Red Cross to help those victims and their families, not for policing our troops for “inhumane treatment.”
America has done, and is doing, the right thing and it’s about time that these groups start to love it or go somewhere else where no one will give a rip about their rantings.
