The U.S. Army moves several hundred endangered tortoises to play tank games in California (Friday’s Herald). Local coyotes kill the relocated tortoises for food, due to there not being any rabbits for food, due to drought. The coyotes are labeled “problem coyotes,” for killing an endangered species, and will be tracked and possibly killed by a federal agency. Meanwhile, the U.S. Army is destroying hundreds of acres of habitat while playing war games.
This is a classic example of how backwards humans make things in regard to nature. Imagine if humans could stop blaming elements and acts of nature for the problems humans, themselves, create! What a much healthier planet we would have if humans could achieve this shift in thinking.
