Hypocrisy clear in Gray Davis recall

Remember a year ago when Halliburton was losing money daily? Well, guess what? Now it has been reported that since the war in Iraq the company shows a $26 million profit and Bechtel, its subsidiary company, has made $16 million, and American taxpayers paid the bill.

Dick Cheney made good on his promise when he left Halliburton with a $34 million parachute (and then whined because he found out he was supposed to pay part of his energy bill in the vice-presidential mansion. He thought the government should pay it all, so we are.) We should be so lucky. After all, who put us in this energy crisis?

Think about it. They have passed laws that take away many of our civil rights. They “took over” the White House in a way that has never been done before and they are now in the process of trying to “take over” the largest state in the union. The reason? They say it’s because Gray Davis lied to get elected and is now running more than a $1 billion deficit. Does that sound familiar? A prominent Republican paid for this fiasco. They do not mention the millions it will cost for a recall vote. But if it’s something Republicans want and will prosper from, no amount of money is too much. Wake up, people, we could be next.
