Regarding the article about Whidbey Island Naval Base jet noise. Forget the important function that these talented, smart and industrious young aviators do when they fly those Growlers. Forget the economic benefit the base affords many who live in that area. Forget that the base was there probably before the Mitchell’s acquired their home. Quoting the Mitchell’s: “Some of those Navy kids want to be in the Blue Angels. They don’t make the sound of freedom, it’s the sound of jackasses.” When I read the article I could hear the noise coming from somewhere, but it wasn’t from those that were called jackasses.
