I guess it was a different world, but when I was growing up, my parents made it plain that honesty and hard work are very important. When I was raising a family, I also made it clear to my daughters that lying was never a option. Things have sure changed, the fake news really does bother me and now I see how much damage it can cause.
The young fellow from North Carolina who threatened the people at the pizza parlor in D.C. with a AR-15 due to a fake news report should be a wake up-call to us all. The spokesperson for Trump that said he didn’t have to tell the truth because we live in a post-truth country is also pretty scary. If we all from the president on down can tell lies all day long, what kind of a society would we have? Not a very good one, I would say!
