May I suggest if Verizon can’t make a go of it in the local market, they pull out and let another company come in? I’m sure there are a few companies who would just love to take over. Any company who has been given a monopoly (phone, cable, etc.), has been given that monopoly and expected to keep prices low. Verizon has taken every rate advantage (i.e.: interstate subscriber line charge, which is allowed, not required). If they can’t make it, let them go. I’m getting tired of being taken by big business. If the small businessman can’t make it, he goes down. If the big business can’t make it, tough. Let them fold.
