To everyone’s shock and amazement our left-wing state Supreme Court (which has been in the pockets of Democrats and the labor and teachers unions for decades) went against virtually all of the courts and other states in the land and declared that the state capital gains tax is an excise tax, not a tax on income (“Supreme Court rules state’s new capital gains tax is legal,” The Herald, March 24).
My concern is the taxpayer cost for the tissues each Democratic legislator is going to need as they drool over the floodgates of increased taxes and, of course, the Democrats’ “Holy Grail,” a state income tax, that this ruling is going to eventually allow. Of course, our esteemed governor and his Democratic ilk, who always tell the truth, say that “no way is this going to happen!” If you believe this, I am willing to sell you the toll rights to the Aurora Bridge; no paperwork necessary!
Let’s keep electing these people.
