A March 30 letter to the editor regarding the need to restore voting rights to felons said the state Legislature has passed House Bill 1078 and felons would have their voting rights restored.
Since these 20,000 ex-felons “live in our communities, paying taxes, and are working hard for their families,” isn’t it also time to restore their gun rights so they can protect themselves and families from all of the roaming felons that haven’t served their time or relapsed into the felon life style. If restoring voting rights will promote racial justice and build a stronger democracy, then so would restoring their gun rights.
