Understandably, many folks are outraged at the new immigration reform signed by the governor of Arizona. What we should be so outraged about is that this issue hasn’t been addressed so strongly before this.
I don’t pretend to know what all the ins and outs of this proposal include, but here’s what I do know: American emergency rooms and jails are crowded with illegal immigrants (and don’t blame racial profiling for this one, folks). These alone are financially draining social service resources that should go directly to legal American citizens.
Finally, I’m sick of all the whiners talking about racial profiling. If you’re here legally, carry proof and thank the official who asks for it. You should be just as outraged because you went through the proper channels to be here legally.
