I am pleased that Vice President Cheney was not in danger of being assassinated at the Baghram Air Force Base in Afghanistan on Monday. I am also saddened by the deaths of those who were killed by the suicide bomber there (and elsewhere, too).
As an anti- (Iraq) war veteran, I wish this senseless killing was over. I especially do not want anyone in our national administration assassinated – we don’t need any of them to be martyred! What our country and the world really need is for Bush, Cheney, Rice, Gates, Gonzalez, Rumsfeld, Rove and their major appointees to be removed from office (by impeachment) and then tried as war criminals for all the deceit, lies, torture and other crimes they have committed against humanity (to say nothing about the less than inadequate help they have provided the wounded service folk from the Iraqi bloodbath).
The above named persons represent the very worst we have had as national leaders in our long and mostly noble national history.
