I am currently a sophomore at Cascade High School and I really appreciated the call to attention of the cinder track at Cascade. (Thursday article, “Cinder track hampers Cascade athletes.“) As a track athlete, I have to run every day on the rocky track, running the risk of rolling an ankle, shin splints and knee injuries (no exaggeration).
I am also the girls’ varsity soccer captain and when it rains (which happens frequently in Washington, as you know) the soccer field is unusable. It’s impossible to not trip, stumble or slip on the surface’s grooves. Our soccer team has a ton of potential to fulfill in the coming years, so I hope something like facilities will not hold us back.
I take pride in Cascade High School. I take pride in my track and soccer teams and teammates. I take pride in the training work I put in. It would just be nice to take pride in where all of the teams’ work goes in.
Thanks again for the article and I hope Everett is willing to support us.
