I am writing this to congratulate and thank the maintenance crew, under the leadership of Barry Galde, at Walter Hall Golf Course for the vast improvements they have made relative to the playing conditions of the course over the past couple of years.
The time and effort spent identifying, repairing, replacing and installing new drainage fields has had a marked improvement of heretofore serious wet and muddy conditions. Additional sanding of the fairways has also aided in this regard.
This past fall and winter the installation of new tee box areas has been much needed and well received, on the whole, by the players. With the “special” cutting and additional sanding of the greens on a regular basis it has continued to show the intent of the grounds crews to make Walter Hall a nice place to play.
I am a member of the Olympic View Men’s Club and I coordinate the senior tournament events during the golfing season. Feedback from a majority of our senior players supports the remarks above.
However, I would be remiss not to mention how disappointed we were that cart paths were not installed at Walter Hall as we had earlier been told would happen.
Please pass on to the people involved how much we appreciate them asking for our input for improvements and their efforts to make it happen.
Everett
