On Jan. 8 I was hauling 12,000 gallons of propane south on I-5. There was compact snow and ice on the road. Up ahead, I saw flares indicating a possible accident. I slowed down and a woman drove around me. She lost control of her vehicle and slammed into the front of my truck.
And we truckers get put through hell.
There is a need for truckers to have their own lanes – away from the dangers of the rest of the in-a-hurry traffic. Those drivers do not like coping with us and the feeling is mutual. Many times in the course of a day I stay back from traffic and watch cars pull right in front of me. I think they do not care about the possible danger they could cause many people should they cause a propane truck to wreck. I think they think they’re the only ones out on the road. I am glad no one was hurt or killed on Jan. 8. This accident could have been much worse!
