During the recent South Carolina Republican debate, Ron Paul’s statements about the economy, the Iraq war, Iran and U.S. support for Israel were met with smirks and cackles from the other candidates. But your recent articles “Bush sells bombs to Saudis,” “Threat to Navy may have been a hoax,” and numerous other articles about the Iraq war and impending recession show Ron Paul’s honesty and wisdom concerning today’s issues.
According to Paul, our foreign policy is inconsistent and economically depleting. Why do we as a nation support Israel and at the same time sell bombs to Israel’s enemies? Why does the U.S. continue to enter into war without declaration, ignoring our Constitution? Why do many of our current presidential candidates talk aggressively about invading Iran when our country is already trillions in debt?
Our intervention and manipulation of foreign governments has led to confusion in the world and an economic crisis at home. Non-intervention (not to be confused with defense against an act of war) was the policy of our founding fathers and resulted in a strong America. Americans must realize that our government no longer respects or acts through the moral looking glass but rather supports a long-reaching agenda where the end justifies any means. In our present economy, war is not funded with supluses or current revenue, but with borrowed money! With recession already in view, huge deficits, a 60 precent decrease in the dollar in the last seven years, and China and Japan holding trillions in assets, our prolonged wars overseas and undefended borders at home will defeat us with bankruptcy.
In our current crisis, our country needs Ron Paul — not another politician, but a statesman with principles, will, determination and greatness of soul. Listen to him — he is hope for America.
