In regard to Herald Writer Adam Jude’s Sept. 9 article titled “State sets $30 trailer tab fees”: The article states, “To avoid any confusion, though, the Legislature has grouped all trailers and charged the same amount.” What a bunch of hogwash!
The Legislature has never been confused in the over 20 years since I have been paying for my 16-foot boat trailer license. For me, a retired senior citizen who uses a boat trailer maybe 12 times a year, the increase enacted to “correct problems with the language of the law” is downright criminal.
I’ll gladly take part in any class action suit to correct this unjust “new trailer fee” against us seniors, and those with limited low incomes. Help. Governer Locke, AARP, senior citizen advocates, low income advocates … anybody out there? Tim Eyman?
