Why can’t the governor be honest with his proposal to raise the B&O tax? His proposal is to “increase the business and occupation tax on services provided by accountants, attorneys, real estate agents and others from 1.5 percent to 2.5 percent. What he does not say is that service providers includes the person that cuts your hair, the guy that mows your lawn, or fixes your lawnmower.
The governor also fails to mention that many of the businesses that are going to be hurt the worst, are same businesses that are going to be affected the most by the new minimum wage law.
