Regarding the Monday letter, “Booster seat sign of bigger problem”: I believe safety laws aimed presumably at saving lives and minimizing injury are motivated mainly by greed.
I believe big insurance companies lobby for every additional safety law possible. It’s all about keeping more money in their own pockets, paying out smaller claims, if any at all. If big insurance companies had it their way we would all be required to wear a suit of armor while behind the wheel. The land of the free is slowly turning into the land of the do as you’re told or pay up. The free have no say in the matter.
