Someday, even the experts will figure out that crime is not caused by rap, metal, techno, or any kind of music, really.
Rather, crime is caused by a power structure of self-absorbed property owners. People who refuse to realize that if you don’t pay taxes for schools and services, they’re just not going to be any good anymore.
Uneducated time bombs are a very poor investment as a future workforce.
And people will realize that if you go on teaching people that life is cheap, leave them in crowded schools, allow them to rot in jails and ghettos, then they may well someday feel justified in coming back to rob and kill you. Duh.
We can do better in our communities. We do not need to add to the cesspool of undereducated students in this country by keeping our children overcrowded in substandard buildings. On Sept. 20, the citizens of Marysville have a choice. Being a product of that school district, I can only hope that they will mark the “yes” box, and show that their kids matter more than their checkbooks for once.
