“Service with Humility.” That is the motto of the Washington State Patrol.
I see neither quality in Trooper Robert Lamay’s selfish and arrogant refusal to be vaccinated (“Trooper doesn’t want the vaccine, and locals want to hire him,” The Herald, Sept. 6). He is choosing, because of what he called his deep Christian convictions, to make himself (and his family) a vector for spreading a highly contagious and proven lethal virus. Deeply Christian, indeed.
There’s a common name for this kind of person: fool. Shame on Lamay, his fellow officers who share his view, and the craven union that defends them.
Fire them all.
