Regarding the Sunday letter, “Cowboy mentality makes us act rashly”: How can the letter writer compare the U.S. involvement in Iraq with the current military defense undertaken by Israel? Israel is “spreading democracy,” emulating George Bush? I believe Israel is under attack, is it not? There are rockets crossing an international border, raining down on their population, killing innocent civilians. And their proper response would be to do what? Invite these terrorists for tea? And the writer is concerned about Lebanon and the terrorists that occupy it? Let’s fabricate a lie and say this is imperialism on the part of Israel? Shame on the person who does this.
This is just another example of blatant lies and propaganda from a left-winger so agitated with President Bush that they will strike out at anything and anyone in order to underpin their ideology. If you tell a lie enough times people will believe it.
