It has bad record of animal care

In good conscience, I cannot agree with the Ringling Bros’ letter that ran in your newspaper Friday, “Needs of animals are a top priority,” by Janice Aria, a Ringling employee from Florida.

I am one of the activists she mentions, descending in front of the Comcast Center, year after year to protest Ringling Bros. Circus. I am there indeed to “distort their excellent record of animal care.” They have a bad record. Ringling has been slapped with the largest penalty in Circus history: $270,000 for animal welfare violations. There is video footage to prove it.

They do not have the Greatest Show on Earth. This is what Everett families should watch before attending The Cruelest show on Earth: www.RinglingBeatsAnimals.com It reveals some very disturbing films of animal abuse perpetuated by Ringling. That is why many of us animal rights activists descend year after year in Everett to protest Ringling. We chased them out of the Key Arena in Seattle where we educated the public well. We shall continue to protest in Everett as long as it takes. Ringling animals are not thriving; they are being exploited and in good conscience I will continue to fight against Ringling and their abuse and set the record straight.
