It helped millions over the years

Some of the people who helped set up Social Security in the 1930s predicted that Congress would have to put money from the general fund into the Social Security fund by the 1960s. Congress never did it! Now Bush wants to take money from the Social Security fund and put it into the general fund.

Social Security has helped millions of people over the years – not only the aged but also disabled people. If someone wants to indulge in fault-finding, he should not look at the Social Security program; instead, he should look at the people who have failed to improve the program or have done things to hurt the program.
