In response to the letter “Religion in schools will lead to decline”: The writer does not know what is happening in the study of science today. It is evolution that is on shaky ground. Evolutionists are so “one track minded” that they refuse to recognize the new findings in the scientific world. The writer states that in the past “brave thinkers made observations and did experiments to prove their theories.” That is what is happening with scientists today who are Christians. They are showing that evolution is just a theory and not a fact. Evolution cannot be proven and neither can creation. However, the new findings and evidence today tend to show that the world is young and not old and evolutionists need even more faith than creationists because the facts do not prove evolution.
The writer does not know about the many new discoveries by scientists who are Christians. Many books, tapes and DVDs are available, and if the writer has viewed any and apparently still maintains his position, then he is typical of “one track minded” evolutionists. All we Christians are asking is that the findings and evidence be presented, then let the student make up his or her mind as to which is believable. Isn’t this the scientific way? And please, don’t let your anger lead you to use labels such as “fanatics.”
