Regarding the Sept. 14 letter written by Al Thurmond (“Terrorist attack: Can President Bush step up to the challenge?”):
I agree that this is not the time for arrogance. Many of us have criticized our president in the past, but now is not the time. We need to be united as one and back our president in this time of crisis. We need to put aside our differences. If anything good can come out of this tragedy, I hope and pray that we will come together and support our friends and neighbors and put aside our differences. Our little complaints and problems seem mighty petty after what we have seen in the past few days. We can all help to make this a better country.
