The newspaper articles you ran several weeks ago comparing grocery store prices were interesting. I will report my own experience comparing price on one item.
The item was a 2-pound bag of Iams dry dog food. I bought a bag at Dels farm supply for $20.99. In the past, I believed Dels had the best price in Monroe. I checked the same 20-pound bag in Fred Meyer. The price $17.99, on sale for $13.99. Albertson’s price was $19.99. I returned the dog food to Dels and they credited my account and were pleasant about the refund. The young woman carried the bag into the store for me.
Those of us with pets should be aware that there is a tremendous difference between retail stores for the same item. The care and feeding of pets can be expensive. I saved $7 when I bought the dog food at Fred Meyer.
