Since January of 2001, the value of my IRAs has decreased by 41 percent. My deferred-compensation savings plan has lost 27 percent of its value. My boss took away the 2002 cost of living increase I was promised. He said that my salary would be frozen for another two years.
On the other hand, my medical insurance premiums have more than doubled. My auto insurance premiums increased by 19 percent. My homeowner’s insurance premium increased considerably, along with the cost of my satellite TV, telephone service and propane gas. My electrical bills are higher than ever. We have all witnessed the daily increases of gasoline. Even the cost of subscribing to The Herald has increased.
Am I the only one who longs for the prosperous economical policies and outcomes of the previous Democratic administration?
