It will let firefighters respond faster to you

I encourage all voters in Snohomish County Fire District No. 12 and the city of Marysville to make the right choice on Nov. 7 and vote yes on Proposition 1.

The main goal of Proposition 1 is to reduce the time it takes for emergency crews to reach you or your loved one when their life may be on the line. This time, called a response time, is critical or even a matter of life or death in many fire and emergency medical situations. The main use of this increase in fire levy will be to provide an additional fire station and firefighters to help reduce these critical response times across our community. The additional fire stations will be the first fire station added to our growing community since 1975.

The Marysville Fire District has shown fiscal responsibility for many years, saving and budgeting for large items such as fire stations, fire apparatus and equipment without requesting additional funding by increasing the fire levy. The fire district last came to the voters for an increase in this fire levy in 1984, over 20 years ago.

Your Marysville Fire Fighters are now asking for you to “Help us help you!” by voting yes on Proposition 1!

Jeffrey M. Cole, President
