Regarding the new primary, all I have been hearing is one side of the issue – the side opposed to it. I must say, most of the whining I hear about it sounds like a bunch of spoiled children – children red-faced and stomping their feet because they aren’t getting their way.
I am simply astonished at the ignorance regarding the purpose of a primary. The purpose of a primary is for the parties to select the candidates they want. I realize that we Washingtonians are fiercely independent and that is great! Independent voters can vote for whomever they wish in the general election, but people who belong to major political parties should be able to choose who they want to represent them in the general election. Everyone else should stop pouting and realize that, as grown-ups, we can’t get our way all the time.
