It’s time to spend tax dollars here

While watching the news on Dec. 15, on my cable that comes out of Los Angeles, I noted that the federal government “may give” $1 million in funds to research the feasibility of a “bullet train” from Los Angeles to Las Vegas.

Seattle is choking in the congestion of automobiles because our dollars have flowed to the East Coast and the Southwest for decades to build their freeways. It seems to me that it is now our turn. It is time to relieve the congestion here.

I do not want a single dollar of my taxes going to build more transportation for big cities that have sucked dollars for all of those decades, causing our congestion here today.

I encourage our elected officials not to allow these funds to be passed on to a city that does not need it.

A new documentary “MLK/FBI,” shows how FBI director J. Edgar Hoover used the full force of his federal law enforcement agency to attack King and his progressive, nonviolent cause. That included wiretaps, blackmail and informers, trying to find dirt on King. (AP Photo/File)
