Has anyone noticed?
There is more than one way to commit terrorism.
Sure, we shudder when we see the pictures of places where the bombs have detonated in Iraq, killing Iraqis or American soldiers. We all accept that kind of terrorism and fear it.
But there is another form of terrorism being waged against this country of ours, economic terrorism. The Middle Eastern nations are waging an economic war against us. They control the price we must pay for oil. They control the fuels we need to function, they know it and price it accordingly. Without low priced oil we simply cannot function over the long term. They control the prices we must pay for that needed oil. They are, in effect, controlling our economy.
Think about it. This country needs oil to survive. We enjoy a way of life that is based upon the ability to travel anywhere in our cars or in our airplanes. We need massive amounts of oil to operate our factories. If we cannot afford the prices the terrorists are charging, we shut down.
While we are distracted fighting a war of death and destruction in the Middle East, they are winning their other war by crippling our way of life.
It’s time for our government to recognize this second war for what it is: terrorism. It is time for our government to wage war on a second front that does not require killing, a war that brings back fair prices for that needed oil.
Give it some thought. I have.
