A recent letter to The Herald suggests that Republicans should withdraw support for Snohomish County Councilman Jeff Sax (“Republican voters should replace Sax,” Aug. 1). The letter was completely off the mark, and I couldn’t disagree more.
Just look at the issues.
Jeff Sax wrote legislation that gave us a badly needed additional prosecutor to bring meth and other drug cases to court faster.
Jeff Sax added 30 sheriff’s deputies to bolster the county’s law enforcement efforts.
Sax also led the effort to make Highway 9 a highway of statewide significance, improving the county’s ability to receive state funding for that highway.
And Sax led the council’s efforts to improve flood control in the county by reforming stormwater regulations.
These are the kind of actions we should expect from our public officials. Jeff Sax has proven he can get things done and deserves our continued support!
