Republicans are wrongly complaining that the $800 billion jobs bill that conservatively will provide 3 million jobs will cost us more than $500,000 per job. If you will take the time to do the simple math, it is actually closer to $260,000 per job. That does sound expensive, but let’s look at what they gave us.
The last eight years of the Republican borrow-and-spend policies left us $5 trillion more in debt, and they created 3 million jobs. The math shows us that their job plan cost us $1,667,000 per job. Clearly the Democratic plan is a bargain compared to their record.
In addition, the stimulus bill will not only provide jobs but it will help rebuild our infrastructure, improve our schools, boost green energy development and help more people to go to college. The Republican debt did none of this; all their plan did was move more money out of the pockets of the middle class and into the pockets of the very rich.
Most of the jobs the Republican plan created were in Mexico and China. The Democrats are creating jobs in our country and finally dealing with problems that have been ignored for 30 years.
Republicans voted against this plan with the stated purpose of a hope that President Obama’s plan, and thus our country, would fail. If they can’t win they would rather see everyone suffer. How sad and wrong-headed.
Thank goodness the country has overwhelmingly decided the failed Republican philosophy is irrelevant.
