Jokers at work
Watch for roadside comedians: Road construction crews are growing weary of pranksters reprogramming electronic warning signs, most recently in Kentucky where motorists were warned of “zombies ahead,” a prank that has been played elsewhere.
Yeah, you may think it’s funny now, but wait until foot-dragging, arm-flailing, brain-eating zombies are steps behind you and no one’s available to help because they’ve all disregarded the “zombies ahead” warning.

Don’t touch my junk: Some 44,000 airport screeners working for the Transportation Security Administration have selected the nation’s largest federal employee union to represent them.

Naming wrongs: Qwest Field, the home of the Seattle Seahawks and Seattle Sounders, will now be called CenturyLink Field, following CenturyLink’s takeover of the telecommunications company Qwest, formerly US West, formerly Pacific Northwest Bell.
Because of the cost involved in repainting the roof to reflect the name, the Century-Link name will appear only on the stadium’s jumbo video screen, at least until someone changes the stadium’s name to “Zombies Ahead Field.”
