I was happy to have the opportunity to speak with Jon Nehring recently during his campaigning for Marysville City Council. He spent a good deal of time discussing the issues that I would like to see addressed. I have noticed that throughout this campaign season Jon has gone out of his way to make himself available to those interested, even if they take a differing view.
It should go without saying, that all candidates for public office should make themselves available and make their views well-known, but this is not always the case. I applaud Jon and his campaign of refreshing openness. Whether or not you agree with him on all the issues you should respect the fact that he is out there on a daily basis, meeting with individual citizens, interest groups and others, making his views well-known and more importantly listening to what is important to us, the voters.
