Recently we attended the Christmas Concert by Bronn and Katherine Journey in Macintyre Hall in Mount Vernon. For about 85 years, I have had an interest in listening to and performing in musical events; so perhaps I’m able to distinguish when something is especially outstanding.
Bronn’s playing was not only perfect, but also offered the greatest expression. That alone made the evening very special. His subtle humor made the evening! He introduced the bald flute player and mentioned with a straight face that they’d met in a barber shop — two baldies! And then Katherine came out and sang her songs which were overwhelming.
Such talent right in our own community. How very fortunate we are!
