Judges must be held to highest standards

I have been following the race for Snohomish County Superior Court judge closely this year. There are several candidates, and I was shocked to see that the Snohomish County Sheriff John Lovick has endorsed Joe Wilson.

It was reported by The Herald in August 2008 that Mr. Wilson has been arrested many times for drunk driving. Although I believe that anyone with this problem can turn their life around, I think it is essential that we hold our judges to the highest standards, and to have such a prominent member of law enforcement condone this conduct is disturbing and distressing to me.
