I am a retired truck driver, 83 years young, so I can tell you how it used to be on the mountain passes.
I don’t blame the Department of Transportation workers. I blame the engineers and people in charge.
Example: The engineers did something that was absolutely thoughtless.
I once asked an engineer why they would do something so stupid and he replied: “If we did it right the first time, there wouldn’t be anything for the engineers that would follow them.”
As far as I can see, nothing has changed.
