The state Republican caucus claims that they would have spent less of the states surplus than the Democrats. What a joke, we have seen what the big spending, big government Republicans do when left to their own resources in the other Washington, where they irresponsibly spend money with abandon, building up massive debt while giving tax breaks to the rich (cutting taxes during a time of war shows they have no concept of reality). Why should we believe the hollow rhetoric coming out of the state Republicans? I guess they would have us believe the myth that they would do better than the out-of-touch big spender Republicans in Congress.
We are fortunate that we live in a state that has a Democratic governor and Democratic control of both State Houses. The Democrats have shown fiscal responsibility and great restraint in light of the size of the state’s surplus.
If you want to see the same fair-minded and responsible fiscal restraint in Washington D.C. that we have in Washington state you are going to have to vote Democratic in November.
