A recent article with President Bush’s picture at his desk after Sept. 11 was an inspiration rather than a political money-raiser issue. Democrats would have done the same thing. I remember the use of a picture with a golden sax, which was also a news article and a money-raiser. I prefer seeing my president at work and would gladly give a donation for such a picture.
The constant bickering and political actions have made me ashamed to claim either party, as I wonder about the dedication to our country. It seems the biggest problem is the egos of man to be at the head of a budget or action that our nation is involved in today. I hear them wrangling about anything they can to discredit both parties. This is one reason why I will not refer to either as my party. I will vote for the man, not the party, and also for what he stands for in his life.
The moral disintegration of our country is a disgrace to all of us. We have the greatest country in the world today. We give more to help others than any other country. We are the ones who are there to help the United Nations even though the countries who are voting refuse to hear us or support our actions.
Yes, we have corruption in government because we have humans running it. This is when the voters must watch and not vote for those who offend again and again.
Is it possible for us to overcome that need for power and money so that we can govern our country as the writers of the constitution intended? They were not perfect either, but they did their best to protect us from a corrupt government. How many have read the Constitution or the Bill of Rights today? It is our responsibility to keep our government “one for the people and by the people” and that means all of us who can vote.
I have lived in other countries, so my view of the world is not just here. I have felt ashamed by all we have compared to the little others have. I am also proud to see what Americans have done and still do for other countries and their people.
